Epoxy Garage Floor In Under 50 minutes (there was a big mess)
Переглядів 5277 місяців тому
Working on an existing epoxy floor with efflorescence damage around the stem walls. Turned out to be a big mess with efflorescence powder and crumbling concrete that needs to all be removed before painting a new floor. Removing all loose concrete helps keep the concrete from falling apart while coating with sticky material. If you dont remove loose concrete rocks will get in your brush and the ...
How To Epoxy Garage Floor in 2024
Переглядів 3957 місяців тому
Actual product is Polyurea fast cure, not epoxy. Typically done in one day, this floor required 2 days because of too much rain water. It was also a bit unusual to do a tall stem wall like this, it's a lot more work!
Polyurea (epoxy) Garage Flooring : My 1 day process
Переглядів 7458 місяців тому
Come along with me as I transform this 30 year old, 2 car garage floor with a fresh new Polyurea coating and flakes. Without extra prep like moisture barrier and damage repairs, this job normally takes 8-10 hours. This floor needed a lot of repair and had to be prepped the day before. I didn't record the prep process so we are starting off with painting the edges first.

Timing & Wave Reading are also massively important...that might be somewhat implied in the Control section, but for people watching in need of help; getting a good understanding of timing & wave reading (+ speed) will work wonders for your success. 🤙 🌊
Right 6 hours go by fast when I'm swimming. Hard to stop. F wind
I'm too heavy to skimboard
i wanted to learn skimboarding during covid - realized i should start w/ skating and im addicted... to skating.
skating is great, it's also much cheaper and more accessible. a lot more money and fame to be made as well. I just love the beach too much. I've done a lot of skating and still do time to time.
Heya i just got my first skimboard yesterday! Wish i realized that it needed wax before i trid it out Man my ankle hurts
brought the pressure... still couldnt catch a wave.
3:05 bro Id kill for those waves!!! i dont live near the ocean and even if i did, since i am in germany, there would not be any chance to skimboard... so i can only do it when going on vacation 2-3 times a year, e.g. in portugal or, as done 2 weeks ago, in greece. now, i would absolutely NOT recommend skimboarding in greece, however, i got very lucky and we had waves like you at 3:05 and i had BY FAR my best skimboarding sessions, finally got my drop down consistently and have been able to catch my first waves and its all THANKS TO YOU! i learned basically everything from you!!! even sustained my first real (actually nasty) skimboarding injuries from wind throwing the board against my shins (another reason to not skimboard in greece, cause you´ll only have waves when its windy). again, thank you frank. you are a true legend and its sad that you dont post skimboarding stuff anymore.
that's awesome! thanks for sharing. If i ever get inspired maybe I'll get back into skim VLOGS /skimming with friends. it's just a lot of time and effort for a couple hundred or maybe 1000 views on youtube. it's dope some of you enjoy it but i'm not sure it's worth it just for a handful of fans.
how did it go with this board? would you recommend doing that?
loved it, it was big tho. 3/4 so it got hard to turn, eventually i got better and needed more maneuverability.
Back to bug you again. Awesome video! When I started watching you, I was struggling to even get on my board. I like how you explain the mechanics behind the ride. I see what I've been doing wrong after this video. On my wrap, I've been trying to complete the pivot on my back foot. (Like a skateboard) I lose all speed and the wave goes through me. If you have something on launching out of the back of the wave, catching air, I would love to see it. Thanks again
hey man. are you not skimboarding anymore? your videos are great and helpful. you should stick to it. maybe you also got some advise for me: i am 6´0, 210 lbs. i have a hard time staying afloat with my 54´´ hybrid board. is it possible, that it´s too small/not wide enough?
Hi there, glad you like the videos and yes i still skim. definitely not as frequent as before but im still out there a lot. skimboarding is is all about agility and speed. 210 is a lot of weight to carry on a skimboard. if you can get down to 175-180 things will get a bit easier. I am 6'1 175 for reference. but it's more likely you need more practice and confidence in your drop. there's a lot of technique when it comes to dropping the board and actually gaining speed, not losing it. also depending on the type of beach you skim, speed can be very hard to get. skimming a flat beach like in florida can be really hard to get speed because there's no help from the slope. places like Socal and mexico have a high slope and the amount of speed that provides alone is massive. When it comes to board size tbh i dont even know the dimensions of my own. I have a ML hornet currently, but i use to ride a Large because it's a bit more stable when getting comfortable with riding. with your size you should be riding a L or XL while learning and go down to M-ML when you get better and want more maneuverability.
@@BeachLookingGuy Thank you. And see... that´s why you are the best and should stick to making videos and sharing your knowledge with those who seek to learn. Doesn´t even have to be the full action skimming videos... could be just you talking, sharing your experiences, etc. That already helps a lot. Thanks again. I really appreciate it.

Wow, good job! Quick question, when you apply epoxy/glue to the floor after you are done with stem walls and edges, do you end up applying some on the edges(corners where stem wall meets the floor) of stem walls with the roller? Will it mess up stem walls? Glue/Epoxy will get on stem walls edges right while rolling the main floor?

It can happen if you’re not careful
So sliding sideways gets you further faster?
When done properly, yes
This was the exact video I needed to see. Thanks brother
Awesome! The fact anyone finds this video and takes the time to listen is such a surprise. Thanks for the comment
Everything you said in this video is correct. I'm 48 and just picked up the sport five months. Anything I do, I want to be the best at. I spend at least 10-15 hours a week practicing. When I say practice, I mean work. Muscle memory is key, like you said. I've been riding goofie, FFF 2 step drop. I throw regular but ride goofie. I found your channel because I was looking fo a better way to get on my board. I hate the one step BFF. I have such a lite board and the wind stays at about 10-15mph during the winter, I have no confidence that my board will be where I drop it. BUT, I have to change something. I've suffered groin injuies, I'm limited to what waves I can get to. I have a tendency to rotate because I'm chasing the board and getting on at the wrong angle. I can't achieve what I want, with my current drop. About three weeks ago, I started practicing the monkey crawl in the living room without a board. (My wife makes fun of my imaginary board) That's when I seen your first video on how to monkey crawl. Nothing say's Oh Ship! like driving your face towards the ground while running. Anyway... I started actualy using monkey crawl about a week ago but only for part of my sessions. I found that I could drop on thicker water (when I got it right) and I could get almost as far with less speed because the transition is less stompy than lunging FFF. But I didn't want to let go of what's comfortable. Then I watched this video, and it's exactly what I needed to hear. Since I refuse to onestep BFF and what I'm doing is holding me back, I need to change. That means leaving the bad habits behind and going with a better drop. I don't have years to figure it out, I may be a fit 48 but I am in fact, 48. Thank you for telling me what I needed to hear. . @@BeachLookingGuy

nice job
Thanks!
that stem wall is nightmare fuel
wow! night and day difference! you did an awesome job, looks amazing!
Hey man great job! Turned out nice. Few questions: I do realize the video is sped up at time ls but in general you have to move pretty quick get the flakes down on wet paint right? Also when you’re scrapping for a smooth surface before the epoxy goes on, what if you scarp off too much or scratch the surface? Is it easy to patch the section? Or is that part hard to mess up?
If you want some tips and tricks i did this video with some voice over ua-cam.com/video/UkXRt1lc7W4/v-deo.html But with the chemical i use (polyurea) you have about 20 mins before it will get too dry. scraping takes a little technique so you dont mess up the floor. repairs are very quick and easy with fast a drying product.
you missed a spot
🤫
Cleaned up nice!
Thanks!
The amazing video. So many details and good clips, easy to understand but still hard to repeat ) Thanks!
Wow, I always did wonder how this worked! Dope video, almost makes me want to attempt to do it myself! haha.
Hey Frank, I’ve been loving your skin content! I’m relatively new to skim boarding but just got my first real exile board and trying to take your lessons and put them into practice. Just wanted to say I appreciate all the work you put in and please keep making more!
Thanks, bro. Prob won’t be making anymore skim content but there’s already a lot of great resources. Take care!
Is it possible to skimboarding having 90 kilos weight? How is the weight important here?
What type of board of this? (Material, brand, etc.)
Και για ποσο διαρκεί αυτό το κερί που έβαλες τώρα, εννοώ κάθε φορα που πας να κανεις θα χρειάζεται κερί ή εξαρτάται απτό ποσο βρωμικο είναι πανω όπως ανέφερες στην αρχή;
I personally take the wax off after I'm done, but you don't have to. It's a personal preference. Remove the wax when you have too much sand in it.
ok. This video is really well made and straightforward to understand. When I finally went to a flat beach with the whitewater receding the way it's supposed to I tried to push my board along the wet sand. But as soon as I pushed down on the board the board sank into the soft sand and would not slide! Was it because I was using a cheap plywood skimboard that one can buy at any of the local resort novelty stores? Or should the video technique work with any board? Maybe I was push down too hard or maybe the bottom surface of those kind of boards simply will not slide? I was hoping I could learn some basics before shelling out big bucks on a professional board! (Oh, by the way, I probably WAY TO OLD to be even thinking of trying the basic skills! I am pretty flexible so getting into the posture position is not difficult. PLEASE ADVISE! THANKS!!)
Thanks for the kind words. The cheap wooden boards are mostly for little kids. Also you don’t really want to push down on the board, use your fingers as shock absorbers, lightly push down and forward. Hope that helps
Thanks for the PROMPT RESPONSE! Amazing! This cheap board was the longest available, but the point is well taken. I will try the "light touch" to see if that makes any difference. If it does, I'll let you know. I have been promoting this SAFE beginner technique to any kid I see trying even though he/she probably won't listen but I'll keep trying! THANKS AGAIN!@@BeachLookingGuy

Can you do a video of the one step drop ?
Should I put wax on my pads?
No
i used to be a horrible skimboarder. after watching this video i realized i was doing it all wrong. Thanks guys and sick edit!

YEW
in what world are skim boards dense lmao
They are very solid, that’s a form of density.
You have to make sure when you put on pads you take off all the wax we’re your pudding your pads or else they won’t stay on for to long
Can just a normal candle on my altar wax work? sorry, I'm a beginner :3
Probably not. Never tried myself
Thanks for sharing great content FRANK! I’m super newbie to skim boarder…I live in LA and looking forward in getting a board that doesn’t cost more than 100 bucks very soon….any recommendations!?
i rly just wish i had a proper skim, wooden boards aint gonna do it. There is also no skim shops in south africa where i live 😢
plenty of people skim wood boards fine.
Good thx
